The Shōrin-ryū Shūbukan (Location: Shuri Toribori-chō. Kanchō Uema Yasuhiro sense) has been a long time participant to the Dynasty Festival. Immediately after Shuri Castle’s fire, in response to the children’s strong wishes of “rebuilding Shurijo through karate and encouraging the Okinawan people”, it organized a dedicatory demonstration on November 3 in the Sakiyama Park. The event was held in collaboration with a few dojo from the Shuri Castle district.
At the same time, the Shūbukan and the Sakiyama district Youth Association have been actively engaged in flagpoles demonstrations in the surrounding area.
Every month of this year, the Shōrin-ryū Shūbukan will conduct fund-raising activities through demonstrations aiming at the reconstruction of Shuri Castle, the sacred place of karate. These events also aim at supporting the local citizens.
