Report on Okinawa karate in Spanish

  Juan Antonio García Ruiz visited Okinawa August 18-23 for a series of reports and interviews on Okinawa karate. He regularly writes articles in Spanish martial magazines and has a radio show on the subject.

  While in Okinawa, our center helped organize  interviews with Kenshikai Hokama Tetsuhiro sensei, Kyūdōkan Higa Minoru sensei and Higaonna karate dōjō Higaonna Morio sensei.

Our center introduced in a local newspaper

For the first time, our center was introduced in the Ryukyu Shinpo newspaper Sunday 20th, 2107.

Mentioned in a French tourist guide

For the first time, our center was mentioned in the Petit Futé, a French sightseeing and travel site.

The event is scheduled from August 24-29 on the 8th floor of the department store with live concerts and various talk shows every days. Also, on the 26th (Sat.) and 27th (Sun.), karate will be present with a demonstration by one of the leaders of Okinawa karate. Nakamoto Masahiro sensei’s kobudo books will also be available among others.

Don’t miss this event if you can’t make it to Okinawa but are found of the island cradle of karate.

A stage of performing arts and karate

  From this summer, the Okinawa Convention and Visitors Bureau (OCVB) present a night entertainment show titled “The Matsuri Okinawa”. Matsuri standing for festival, the show introduced some performing arts of Okinawa which have been impacted by a diverse range of performing arts from Southeast Asia, lion and dragon dances, karate and kobudo etc., all arranged in a modern style.
