Karate researcher Patrick McCarthy has discovered a new photograph of the thought to be Shurite master Itosu Ankō. The photograph was found in Naha City Historical Museum Digital Museum.
The master stands in the right of the photo.
The explanations on the website are as follow: First Osato High School Elementary / Late Taisho. From the book Dai Ryūkyū Shashin-jō or Great Ryukyu photo book.
It is the second photograph ever discovered after the first one found by karate master and historian late Kinjō Hiroshi.

The Okinawa Prefecture Karate promotion division is organizing two new symposiums in relation with the Okinawa Karate Promotion Vision draw up project.
Dates are December 19th at the Okinawa Karate Kaikan and December 26th at OIST. Both events start at 18:30~. Entrance is free but prior registration is a must. For more, check out the Japanese page.

An Okinawa karate delegation will visit Europe to promote the The 1st Okinawa Karate International Tournament.
Five masters representing the major styles of Okinawa karate will demonstrate and instruct in Madrid Spain January 14th (Sunday), London GB January 17th (Wednesday), and München Germany the weekend of January 20-21.
Masters scheduled to be part of the delegation are Sakugawa Masanobu Shōrinji-ryū 9th dan, Shinjō kiyohide Uechi-ryū 9th dan, Ikemiyagi Masaaki Gōjū-ryū 9th dan, Akamine Hiroshi Kobudō 9th dan and Shimabukuro Zenshun Shorin-ryū 6th dan.
