Tomb of Matsumora Kōsaku

Description

Having lost their privileges, many noble families from Shuri and Tomari moved in central and northern Okinawa in the 18 and 19 centuries. From Tomari, the Matsumora and Yamada families relocated to Atta in Yafuso, in present Onna Village. The Yamada later moved to Kisenbaru but the Matsumora stayed in Atta. This is where the Tomb of Matsumora Kōsaku can be found. At the entrance of the tomb stands a post on which is written "Entrance to Bushi Matsumora tomb". The post was erected on the February 24th, 1965.
