The 2nd Okinawa Karate Academy will take place
The 2nd Okinawa Karate Academy will be taking place.
The theme of the Academy is “100 Years of Karate Promotion – Following in the Footsteps of Gichin Funakoshi”.
It is said that karate was first brought from Okinawa to the rest of the world in 1922.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the spread of karate from Okinawa to the rest of Japan.
Although Gichin Funakoshi may be regarded as a pioneer in the spread of karate, not much is known about his activities in Okinawa.
This Academy will reflect on Gichin Funakoshi’s footsteps and deeply consider 100 years of karate promotion.
*Okinawa Karate Academy (6 sessions) is scheduled from October 18, 2022 to March 2023.
The program may be cancelled if the facility is closed due to the spread of the new coronavirus.
