An exhibition event titled “The Spread of Okinawan Karate” is scheduled to take place.
This exhibition is designed to explore how Okinawan karate has spread throughout Okinawa, Japan, and the world through three main themes.
The first theme focuses on modern karate instructors who have taught and promoted Okinawan karate. Visitors will learn about the ways in which contemporary karate teachers introduced karate into middle school classes using government support strategies. The exhibition will showcase the wisdom and activities of teachers who spread karate throughout Okinawa through newspapers, records, and other means from the Meiji to early Showa period.
